Ripple was conceived to empower modern Asian commuters. The vacuum bottle ensures that users stay hydrated in a fashionable way to provide them a comfortable journey.

The wavy lid slides open with a simple one-hand operation to expose the hygienic preserved drinking spout. The leak-proof structure that is seamlessly integrated between the cap and the body gives the user a unique experience.

With a minimal yet colorful design, Ripple acts as an extension of the user’s personality beyond mere functionality.

Research

Many Asian people live in big cities and have a hectic life. Therefore they often tend to select products that save time and effort, but also work as a clear extension of their outfit. Therefore users value vacuum bottle features such as quikc-open solutions and hygienic closures.

There are several vacuum bottles on the market that provide these features. However, the lock makes it often impossible to open the bottle with one hand or the spout needs to be pushed back manually which reduces hygiene.

How can we design a on-the-go drinkware item that adapts better to Asian habits?

The solution

The hygienic vacuum bottle

Ripple contains a unique system to consume drinks without touching the spout. The top cap with rippled surface is intuitive cue to open and close the bottle with a single hand movement.

The hidden spout will be automatically revealed or concealed through a silicone straw that acts as a spring. This unique mechanism is hidden between the cap and bottle body to ensure hygienic use in combination with a fashionable drink solution. And the vacuum double-layered body enhances the thermal performance by retaining inner temperature. With a lock on the back side of the cap, users can avoid accidental leaking throughout their journey.
