During a broad market study, we concluded that the purpose of most stackable cookware sets is to save space by nesting the pots. This results in a wide variety of pots that require each a different lid.
In modern interiors the kitchen is part of the living room where people spend more time than only preparing their meal. When interviewing people that have products from high-end kitchenware brands, we discovered that most of them show the products on the kitchen counter to make it part of their interior.
How can we design a cookware set that maximizes space and sparks compliments in the kitchen?
The solution
The Cooking Totem is a functional sculpture that can be placed on plain sights in the kitchen as an intriguing piece of design. All shapes and sizes are carefully designed to achieve a seamless and iconic unit when assembled.
We redefined cookware and diningware by combining them into a set that can adapt to both scenarios. The detachable handle fits to all pots for cooking. Removing the detachable handle enables the user to turn the pots into serving bowls.
